The College Admissions Landscape Has Changed.
Has Your Strategy?
Overloaded Counselors
The national student-to-counselor ratio is 372:1. That means your scholar may get 10 minutes a year of personalized guidance. The college process deserves more than that, and so does your family.
high costs
The average price tag for a private university is $63,000 per year. For in-state public schools, it's nearly $30,000. Finding and applying for the right scholarships isn't a nice-to-have, it's essential. We make sure your scholar doesn't leave money on the table.
Prove It
Schools like Caltech and Virginia Tech are now using AI tools to screen applications for authenticity. In a world where everyone has access to ChatGPT, your scholar's genuine voice, their real story, told well, is their biggest competitive advantage. We help them find it
Moving Goalposts
Harvard, Dartmouth, and Brown now require SAT/ACT scores again. But 75% of schools are still test-optional, and the data shows submitting scores still helps, even there. Knowing the right strategy for your scholar makes all the difference.
At Future Bound, Every Scholar Gets a Seat at the Table.
College counseling shouldn't be a luxury. Our 1-on-1 approach means your scholar gets real, personalized attention, not a generic checklist. We meet your family where you are, at a price that works for you.
We look at the whole picture: course selection, extracurriculars, essays, financial aid, and everything in between. Because getting into the right college isn't just about a strong application, it's about setting your scholar up for a future they're excited about.

Meet the Founder
I'm Amanda Rhoden, an Independent Educational Consultant with over 20 years of experience in education, including 17 years in the classroom teaching English. Relocating to Puerto Rico opened my eyes to how many talented scholars were navigating the college process alone, not because they didn't need support, but because it was out of reach. Future Bound is my answer to that. Expert, personalized guidance for students in Puerto Rico and across the US, at a price that doesn't stand in the way of your scholar's future.
Our Mission
At Future Bound, we believe every scholar deserves a guide, someone in their corner who knows the process, knows the pitfalls, and knows how to make their application shine. We provide personalized, 1-on-1 support for students in Puerto Rico and across the US, including:
Selecting high school classes and extracurricular activities
Crafting personal statements and supplemental essays
Navigating application platforms like the Common App
Interview preperation
Finding and applying for scholarships
Creating a balanced college list

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I start college counseling?
There's no perfect time, but earlier is almost always better. Most students start around sophomore year, though we work with scholars at every stage. The earlier we start, the more intentional we can be about course selection, extracurriculars, and building a strong application over time rather than scrambling senior year.
Why choose Future Bound?
Future Bound offers something most college counseling services don't, personalized, 1-on-1 guidance at a price that works for real families. With over 20 years of experience in education, we know this process inside and out. But more than that, we genuinely care about your scholar as a person, not just an applicant. Every student gets a real mentor in their corner, not a checklist.
How have college applications changed recently?
A lot, actually, and it's moving fast. Some schools have brought back SAT/ACT requirements after years of test-optional policies. Holistic admissions means grades alone aren't enough anymore. And now, colleges are using AI tools to screen applications for authenticity. Knowing how to navigate all of this is exactly what we're here for.
How can my scholar make their application stand out?
Honestly? By being genuinely themselves. The strongest applications tell a clear, consistent story, through activities, essays, recommendations, and choices that all point to who this person really is. We help scholars figure out what that story is and how to tell it well.
How are sessions conducted? Do you work with students outside Puerto Rico?
Sessions are held virtually via Google Meet, which means we work with students across Puerto Rico and throughout the United States. For families on the island, in-person meetings may also be available.
Specialized Support
Not every scholar needs the same level of support, and that's exactly the point. Our Focused Programs are designed for families who know what they need help with and want targeted, expert guidance in that specific area. Whether your scholar is working on their essays, searching for scholarships, or figuring out what direction they want to head in, there's a program built for that.
Future Bound LLC PR offers expert college counseling in Puerto Rico and beyond, including help with applications, scholarships, and essays.
